Dear Parents/Guardians:

In February each year, for current families and children entering grades K-8, we charge a non-refundable re-enrollment fee of $25.00 per student.  In August we charge a registration fee of $30.00.  The registration fee is a part of the total fee payments listed in the handbook on pages 23-24.  Together these fees total $55.00 and have remained unchanged since at least the 2000-01 school years. In 2004-05 when we started our Pre-Kindergarten program we began charging new families with students entering grades K-8 a non-refundable enrollment fee in February of $50.00 and $30.00 in August and a one time $25.00 fee for Pre-Kindergarten.   

The fees that are charged help subsidize the expenses that accrue for standardized testing (Terra Nova), school handbook, marketing and communications materials, copying equipment and supplies, professional development for teachers and other general operating expenses that tuition, parish investment and fund raising do not cover.  All of these expenses have increased significantly since 2000-01.

After researching the fees charged at other Catholic schools and discussing with both the School Board and Finance Committee, a decision has been made to charge a one time non-refundable enrollment fee.  Therefore, in February for existing families with students entering grades K-8 the enrollment fee will be $100 per student or $200 per family.  In addition, the amount charged for new families with students enrolling in grades K-8 will be $125.00 per student.  All families with Pre-Kindergarten students will be charged a $50.00 per student enrollment fee.  All fees are a one time, non-refundable charge and you will not be assessed an enrollment or registration fee in August.

This increase will help ensure more secure enrollment figures for preparing next year’s budget and help meet our financial and educational objectives.
