Dear St. Paul School Families:
Your administration and school board is very excited to have a Pre-K class, and an After-School Care program. We believe you will find them a very useful and beneficial addition to our school services, and we sincerely thank you for your excellent response to the surveys conducted early in the school year, which overwhelmingly indicated a need to implement each of these programs.
Our pre-K class will enroll no more than 25 students, and will run parallel with the St. Paul school hours and calendar. This class will enroll 4 year old children, and priority enrollment will be given to current St. Paul school and parish families. The program is curriculum based, with infusion of fun and age appropriate activities conducive to the best learning environment, and preparatory for the upcoming Kindergarten year. There will be a qualified Program Director and a teacher’s assistant to instruct the class. There is great interest in this class, and it will fill quickly. Enrollment for this class will take place during registration, on February 10th. The fee is $70 per week, and includes a hot daily lunch. There is a one time $25 registration fee and $35 materials fee. Any enrolled child must be independently able to use the toilet, and out of diapers. There is a 10% discount for families who may need to enroll twins or other multiples in the pre-K class. This program will run independently of the K-8th grades, and tuition cannot be combined for current school families enrolling a pre-K child.
The second program that will be added is on-site after-school care, available for all school ages, pre-K through 8th grade. Hours of operation will be 2:35p to 6:00p daily, and will run on days that school is in session. It does not include holidays, in-service days, or Christmas, Spring and Summer breaks. The program will allow children to remain in qualified, supervised setting, on-site, with 3 separate age groups (pre-K to 2nd, 3rd to 5th, and 6th to 8th ). Each age group will have a supervisor/care-giver, and age appropriate indoor activities will be offered to occupy the children in their charge. There will also be supervised escort to after-school clubs, academic and athletic practices of which certain children may be scheduled to attend. Care-givers will be appropriately trained, and screened to insure quality care of our children.
The fees for after-school care are as follows:
Full time: $30 per week /1 child, $10/ 2nd child and $5/ 3rd child or more.
Part time: $18 per week for 1 to 3 days.
There will be a $1.00 per minute late charge for pick up of any child after 6:00pm.
A snack will be provided to all children, and there will also be opportunity for each child to complete homework, study for tests, etc.
After-school care is available to enrolled St. Paul school families only.
As each of these programs are childcare-based, they are each tax deductible as a child-care expense, and also will apply to pre-tax dependent care accounts offered by many employers. We believe that the implementation of each of these programs will only serve to strengthen our currently solid school program, and will hopefully alleviate some of the stress that our school families experience with each of these issues.
We encourage you to send in the interest form with relation to each program as soon as possible, as response already indicates that each program will fill quickly. Please provide all information requested, and you will be further contacted regarding the program in which you have expressed interest.
Thank you for assisting us in developing programs and addressing issues important to St. Paul School and Parish families.
Sincerely,
Your Administration and School Board
